Celebrating 25 years of the US Open
on Sky Sports
2015 marked the 25 anniversary of Sky Sports broadcasting the US Open Tennis Championship. The objective was to inform the Sky Sports viewer, who is also an occasional tennis fan, that Sky Sports has a long and rich heritage of broadcasting the US Open Tennis Championship.
Throughout the last 24 years Sky Sports viewers have witnessed some of the greatest moments in this historic tournament. Great moments that have delivered a diverse range of emotions to the viewer.
The concept was to use the lyrics of a street poet to convey this year’s subject matter – This year (2015) Sky Sports are celebrating their 25th year of broadcasting the US Open Championship. A more mature lyrical poet helped communicate a period of time, and convey what’s been an incredible entertaining 24 years of the US Open on Sky Sports. The narrative journey is inter-cut with archive footage of the greatest US Open moments from the last 24 years.
